Sponsor Spotlight

Sudbury Minor Baseball would like to take some time to highlight our sponsors.

This week we would like to acknowledge one of our longest serving sponsors, ACT/UCT Sudbury.

The United Commercial Travelers is a charitable organization that is involved in many forms of community service. Locally, UCT Sudbury was formed in 1943, recently celebrating its 75th anniversary. Internationally, their history goes back over a century...135 years young!

UCT Sudbury is involved in many local fundraising projects, including supporting Boardwalk gaming, where they host regular bingo events, a charitable golf tournament, the Touch a Truck event with Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and the selling of Christmas hams produced by Vitto Brand Foods. All in all, UCT’s total donations to Sudbury charities now exceeds 2.5 million dollars!

UCT is easily one of the longest serving sponsors of minor baseball in Sudbury, with a history of approximately 50 years of sponsorship. That’s quite a few young ball players who have worn the ACT/UCT logo over the years. Many of their members have played, had children who have played in SMBA, and a few have even been brave enough to hop behind the bench and coach.

Each year members of UCT visit the Terry Fox Complex to see their teams in action, often bringing with them hats and treats for the players.

Sudbury Minor Baseball is very lucky to have UCT as a sponsor and as a community, Sudbury is lucky to have this organization working for so many great causes. Have a look at the attached brochure to see a complete list of what UCT does for Sudbury.

Thank you UCT!
