What is SMBAs Friend Request Policy?
The SMBA wants all players to enjoy their experience and baseball is a great opportunity to make new friends and meet new people. However we recognize that having a friend on the team or for transportation purposes can help a player when there is a special need.
The SMBA will try to honor friend requests but they cannot be guaranteed. Our objective when selecting teams is to have fair and balanced play.
The following guidelines will be used when assessing friend requests:
- One sibling request
- One friend request is allowed per child. Requests for multiple players cannot be guaranteed.
- A friend request will only be considered if it’s reciprocal (A requests B and B requests A.)
- Friend requests across tiers or divisions will not be considered, players must play within their division.
How does SMBA make the teams?
SMBA aims to make teams fairly and equally skilled to ensure that games are competitive. The SMBA Registrar makes the teams based on:
- Sponsors
- Coaches
- Sibling requests
- Friend requests, where possible
- Skill ranking based on the house league evaluation or self evaluation

How will SMBA communicate with me?
We will occasionally send emails leading up to the season, but once the teams are launched, we will mostly use the SportsHeadz app to communicate with you, and allow you to communicate with your team. This includes any major announcements, schedule changes, rain-outs, etc. Announcements will also be sent to your email.
It is important that you register your player with the correct email address for all parents/guardians (2 per player). Additional guardians can be added to the SportsHeadz App once launched.
